The lamp emits a diffusion of symmetrical warm light. Just as the versions prior to the PH 80, the light contained within the lamp is directed on a downward basis. The shades are designed with opal acrylic, which gives the room lighting a comfortable aura and uses its features to reflect a warm reflection. The final fourth layer at the top, which is added just for this version of Louis Poulsen`s collection, contains a red hue, which emphasises and enhances the warming glow of the light.
The lamp, in particular the shades are made with a white opal acrylic finish, which is high pressure moulded, while the top layer contains a high lustre chrome plated finish. The top shade is also made from a high pressure moulded polycarbonate. The base is made of a black high pressure moulded ABS, and the stem is made from a high lustred chrome plated steel.
The cable of the lamp, is combined with the design of the lamp, which is made of a simple plastic cord with a plug. The length of the cable allows for free placement around the room, being measured at 2.6 meters. The lamp is controlled by an on and off switch which is placed directly on the cord.
The lamp is also made of a sturdy design, with a minimum of 7.5 kg, and a maximum of 7.6 kg, allowing for variation from one lamp to another.
