Wall lamp with classic shapes and subtle details
Alfred Homann and Ole V. Kjær won 3rd prize with the Nyhavn wall lamp in an outdoor lighting competition organised by Louis Poulsen. The underlying idea behind this lamp was to design a smaller and more subtle type of wall light than what was on the market at the time, but with familiar and classic shapes.
The wide conical shade with white interior had to ensure that a wide beam of light is still emitted. The smaller rings at the top are precisely proportioned that they do not cast vertical shadows, illuminating each other and the top of the lampshade.
The Nyhavn wall lamp was om designed as outdoor lighting, but can of course also be used indoors. The classic design creates a warm and welcoming effect both on a facade and on a wall inside, for example in the entrance hall.
